How does the free trial work?
Download Tayu and start a 7-day full-feature trial in the app. No credit card is required. After the trial, you can keep browsing and organizing your library, but wallpaper playback stays locked until you buy Tayu.
Is Tayu a subscription?
No. Tayu is a $10 one-time purchase — it never renews and there is nothing to cancel. Your licence covers the Tayu app for the lifetime of the product, and new scenes we add to the library are included.
How many devices can I use it on?
Up to 3 devices, in any mix of Macs and Windows PCs. One purchase covers all of them — there is no seat to manage and nothing to renew.
Will it drain my battery?
Minimal. Tayu pauses video or switches to a still image the moment you unplug — and even when running, playback is tuned to stay light on your machine.
Can I use any YouTube video as my wallpaper?
Yes. Save a video's URL in Tayu and it plays as your desktop wallpaper — lofi rooms, rain, fireplaces, walking tours, whatever you keep coming back to. Slow, stable videos work best.
Does Tayu need an internet connection?
You need a connection to start the trial, use YouTube wallpapers, and download new scenes. Downloaded scenes play offline while your trial or purchased access is active.
Where is my data stored?
Your wallpapers, playlists, schedules, and saved URLs stay on your device — playback happens locally. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Is Tayu available for Windows?
Yes. Tayu runs on macOS (Apple Silicon, macOS 13+) and on Windows through the Microsoft Store. Use the download menu to pick the build you need.
Can I get a refund?
Use the 7-day full trial to make sure Tayu fits before buying. Digital purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or approved under Paddle’s refund policy. Contact support@tayutau.app if you need help.
